In the December ’04 Critical Mass I outlined how to build forearm mass; however that was before I discovered a new bar that Jonathan Lawson and I have been using in our workouts.  It’s called the Forearm Bar and it was sent to us by Monster Bars
 
It’s a uniquely angled short bar, shaped like a wide V, with a weight sleeve in the middle so you can add barbell plates.  You stand gripping the bar at arm’s length and do wrist curls, reverse wrist curls and extensor wrist curls over a full range.  Jonathan and I have been using it along with X Reps in our forearm routine, and we’ve gotten some wild new detail in our lower arms, not to mention strength and vascularty.

As for the Forearm Bar all I can say is where has this been my whole life. The extensors in my forearms are actually sore. I used to use over 100 pounds for my wrist curl and now I get a greater effect with just 17.5pounds. It used to take me up to an hour to finish my forearm workout with all of the switching plates and breaks and uncomfortable postions. Now my workout takes less than a 1/2 hour and it is fun!. I look forward to using the bar every day and I really like the curling and reverse curling that you can do with it. I used to reverse curls using 60 Pounds but now I reverse just 17.5 pounds on the bar and my extensors really burn and the absolute best part about your bar is that my thumbs will never again limit the weight I can use to build my forearms. I am very pleased with the bar and I want to let you know that it is the best forearm product out there and I will never again have to use a wrist roller, barbell, dumbell, or any other forearm device.
